I seem to remember a bit of dialog in one of the Sean Connery James Bond films. A third nipple on a man was considered in Voodoo culture to be a sign of sexual prowness. It has been 20 years since I have seen that, but it stuck with me as I have a third nipple myself. - small with no areola. It has never come up with a lover before, but I always associated it as "plus" based on the movie.

I used to be acquainted with a man in Louisiana who had six additional nipples. His usual two pectoral areas were completely normal. The additional six nipples, three per side, extended symmetrically in two straight lines down his stomach which seemed to be the "perfect" arrangement as for other polythelial mammals (in his case without additional areola). Not all of his additional nipples were equally fully formed; they appeared more as protuberant moles, but their orientation made it clear to me what they were. We became acquainted at a nudist park and he didn't seem to be the least self conscious about his extra "nips". There didn't seem to be any enlargement or swelling around any of his extra nipples so apparently there was little or nil extra mammary tissue. I suppose it might have been considerably different if he were female. If it were me, I think I'd probably be quite to very self-conscious and probably wouldn't have become a nudist. I always felt so much the better for him.

When our daughter, Brookelyn, was 5 months old, we discovered she had a "3rd nipple/breast"...needless to say we were horrified/embarrassed for her. The dr. told us is was not that uncommon and are usually hereditary-he also said in medical school he learned this joke "what do glasses of wine and breast have in commom?" "two's not enough and 3's too many" OY!
when we told my husband's family about this "3rd nipple/breast" the next month at Eastertime...my sister-in-law proceeded to raise her shirt..and in the same area as our daughter...she, too, had the "3rd nipple/breast"....Brookelyn is now 11 years old, and she reminds her daddy of this...."thanks Dad...for the family trait" hehehe

My daughter had a little place under one breast, that looked like a 'chicken pock' scar or a dimple, but she was born with it. The doc told us it was an accessory breast. As she got older, we noticed she had some darker, thicker skin under her breast, armpit around to her side/back area. When she was an infant, it was right around where your hand would hold her under her arm. When she was a toddler, a bit of it was right at the crease of her armpit and as she was more active it would crack and rub raw so we took her to a dermatoligist to see what it was. Yep, sure enough, breast tissue! He told us it could 'grow with her' and continue to cover as much of her body as it did then, or it might 'shrink' as she grew. We could always come and get it removed if it bothered her too much. Luckily, it stayed the same size, NOT growing as she did, it was finally just a little patch of darker skin on her back/side and under the breast a bit. The bad thing was, she also had a breast deformity, and had 3 surgeries to correct. Most of the fiberous tissue was removed, and she got implants at the age of 17. Because of the deformity, the 'bad tissue' hurt much more than usual for a young girl every month. Her cousin (on my husband's side) also was born with that 'dimple' on her chest. So, I guess it does run in families.

Yes...it is true ~ YOU CAN GROW EXTRA NIPPLES! Gross but OH SO TRUE. When I was pregnant with my first child I grew one under my armpit. I did not even realize it was there until one evening I was lying on the bed propped up on one arm reading a book when I noticed the bed was wet under my arm. Well I could not figure out how it got wet when it was not wet when I propped my arm up to read my book. I glanced up to the ceiling and there of course was nothing leaking from the ceiling when I then noticed my underarm was damp too. I had on a sleevless top and I felt under my arm and there it was. This mole like thing leaking milk. I had never noticed it was under my arm, it was like it grew over night. FREAKED ME OUT! I could not imagine what it was. Then I panicked! Well, I rushed to the doctor as soon as I could and he told me it was a nipple. OH, I was totally grossed out and embarrassed! He said it was not uncommon for anyone to have extra nipples especially for a woman to grow them when she is pregnant. He preceded to say that he had seen women when they are pregnant to grow six to eight of them up and down the stomach just like a dog does. Well, that is when I was ready to leave the doctors office. He removed the nipple and it has never grown back. I have a small scar under my armpit to remind me. But then with my next child...here we go again under the other arm. I had it removed too. This time I knew what it was and it was not a mole. YUK! So there you go! It does happen! To the best of us! LOL!!!!

This one time i went to the doctor and when i had my exam my doctor noticed the extra tissue in both of my armpits. Thats when i found that i had extra breast tissue there. Theres never been nipples but once i had kids thats when they became a problem. Ive been to doctors to have the extra tissue removed but all of them said it would be more painful to have them removed due to that my milk line is there and ive had 3 kids. I had a Sunday School teacher (when I was about 5 yrs. old and I am 61 now) who had a tiny extra thumb about 1/2" long growing right out the side of her regular thumb. It was perfectly formed and kind of cute but I remember thinking that it looked like it belonged on a baby doll and I stared at it a lot. According to my mother, she never had it removed because it was a family trait. The lady, herself, never addressed it with us and, as far as I can remember, no one in the class ever mentioned it to her. Now think it would have been a wonderful teaching opportunity for all of us.

Funny, when I became a teacher, the kids in my class never missed a chance telling me that my teeth were crooked--I got braces when I got tired of hearing it. Glad that I did too!

Humans are known to have so called "milk lines". These lines are inwardly curved lines along which accessory breasts are known to occur. Accessory nipples are not all that uncommon. Fully developed, functional breasts accessory to the "main" breasts are rare. I have seen a set of four. In the old days, these people might qualify for Barnum and Bailey's Circus displays.

When I was about thirteen I noticed that I had a new freckle under my right breast, and this wasn't unusual for me to get freckles in the summer but what struck me as odd was the placement. When it didn't go away by December, I showed my mom and she realized it looked like a mole. She told me not to worry about it, but we would ask the doctor at my next physical. We kept forgetting to mention it, and when I was maybe 14 the doctor told us it was a third nipple and that it was hereditary. What didn't help was the night before we watched Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights, and one of the characters has three breasts and therefor nicknamed, "Miss Triple Nipple".
And earlier this year my young cousin was running around with her shirt off when we noticed that she had a similar 'freckle' in the same sport, and we found out that my uncle also has one. So now I get to make fun of my mom for carrying that gene.

I had a strange "lump" show up in my left armpit, several yrs ago....after a needle biopsy (ouch), and several discussions with the doctor I worked for, I went to see a surgeon (who was elderly at the time). He guessed that it might be "breast tissue". He tested this theory, by "measuring it" with an Ultrasound, both before AND after my monthly cycle...and sure enough, that's exacxtly what it was. Was grateful to finally have an answer...and that were were no more biopsies for me! :)

It was always a little annoying but it wasn't huge and didn't really phase me until I had my 1st child, It filled with milk and throbbed horribly bad. We discovered what looked like an extra nipple (not fully formed) on my daughter when she was quite young...not long after my mom was at the doctor for a physical and he noted the "mole" she had was really a 3rd nipple!
I wasn't too shocked as I had a friend who had a 3rd breast under her arm...it only enlarged when she was pregnant and since she nursed her children her doctor told her not to express any milk from that one and it would dry up, which it did...she never mentioned that it caused any pain, just inconvenience for a while...

I was born with a 3rd nipple. It was located right under my right breast and I was a small child, therefore it was small with an areola and a nipple. I was teased tremendously by my sister whom proceeded to tell all our friends in the neighborhood. I had it removed and I still have the scar. I wish I had kept it now after reading this article. I am the proud owner of a third boob under my right armpit. It is without a nipple and it began forming after i breast fed my first born and my GP thought it would subside after I stopped breast feeding but no it became even bigger after my second one was born and it has remained my constant companion ever since.

My husband is fine with it so it shall continue to remain tightly held under my armpit forever!!I only miss being able` to wear trendy sleeveless top, but then I revel in this rear individuality, souvenirs given to me by my two children!!

When my 5 yr old son was born I thought they had nicked him during the c-section... he had a small indention about 2 inches below his right nipple. At his 8 week check-up I asked his doctor & she freaked out, explained it was a third nipple & it was the 3rd one she had seen THAT DAY!!! 2 babies @ the hospital & my son... thankfully his is inverted & has no breast tissue (actually looks like a tiny scar). I have a third nipple under my left breast. It looks like a small mole under the breast. Military doctors in the mid-50s told Mom what it was. Her mother had one, too, but I've no info as to her appearance. You can see just the smallest little slit where I guess milk might come out. No one has ever noticed it, unless I pointed it out. Stil, something to share with my late maternal grandma.
I'm more worried about my partner's overweight 20 year old nephew with "manboobs." Dude, stop eating at "Jim's Restaurants" so much in San Antonio. I know the "Frontier Burger" is fab, but try some fruit and exercise. Still, I remember watching a local news story there with a 16 YO, slim as silk, and he had the "manboobs" already. Was having surgery. Nephew:fat. "Slim as silk": breasty-thingy.
Now, I look at my third nipple and then the second set of twins born in Belgium, I think, that were the second set of "black/white" twins parents had, and think, "What a wonderful world!"

Interestingly enough my husband is an identical twin and his brother has a third nipple (or "nubbin" as Chandler Bing would call it) while my husband has only 2. Though genetically identical, something must occur in development to determine who has extra parts like this.

I have an extra nipple also, below one breast. I used to think it was a mole (of which I have many) but during my first pregnancy it developed into what is unmistakably a miniature symmetrical aureola and nipple. The whole thing is maybe 1/4" across, and there is no mammary tissue under it, it is flat with the skin. It bothered me for a while (possibly sensitive due to pregnancy/post-pregnancy hormones) but now that I'm no longer nursing anybody, it has no special sensation. None of my children seem to have inherited a tendency to this, but perhaps one will show up as they move into puberty.

I have four daughters and one of them was born with a third nipple but then it inverted and now it just looks like a little dent in her skin. I've asked around the family and no one else has one or else they won't admit it BUT I do have one great uncle that had 11 toes. One cousin that had 11 fingers. And two of my brother's kids were born with extra growths on their hands but because they didn't have real bones in them they just tied rubber bands around them and they fell off. We also have three cousins who had one or more children with those same extra "fingers".

My daughter was so devastated by an older girl that pointed her third nipple out. She didn't tell me for over a year. She didn't go swimming or wear a swimsuit even on vacation on a tropical island, I just thought she was being a typical self conscious teenager. I found out later how torn up she was. We had it removed, and it left a big scar that will supposedly go away mostly. She didn't mind the thought of a scar, just the nipple. Her pediatrician never noticed it. I have one, too, and never thought of having it removed. I haven't worn a bikini since I was 19 anyway. My swim coach pointed out mine. I wish people would stop pointing things out.

I have extra breast tissue ranging from my breast, under my arms, and completing a circle around my back... like a huge circular boob... Now that I am heavier, it isn't noticable, but when I was skinnier, it looked kind of odd. I am loosing the weight again, and not looking forward to the circular boob. My "regular" boobs are FF, and my mom always told me God wanted to give me bigger boobs, but they didn't fit... The funny part is, no one in my family is over a C cup... How did I get so lucky?!?!?!

I was born with polymastia. At the age of 7 when I started developing, a little one with nipple appeared by my arm pit, at the age of 10 in alot of pain , the other one appeared on the other arm pit with no nipple. - as I got older they hurt alot, but never had them taken because they are apart of me. When I gave birth to my chilren , I was in alot of pain, the doctor took alot of pictures for science. Both gave milk as well. I still have them but one with no nipple has always bothered me because of the size under my arm, and I am thinking about donating it to science. It will be hard though because it's apart of my being.
